After nearly abandoning the film following a script leak, Quentin Tarantino’s Western thriller is now expected to be the Oscar-nominated director’s next project. Production on The Hateful Eight should get under way in the coming months — but Tarantino is already ahead of the game, and ready to give a little bit of a Hateful tease to the world at large.
The first teaser trailer for The Hateful Eight will arrive next week, paired with the release of Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
The trailer will only appear in theaters, and the hope is that it will help get fans of Tarantino into seats to see both the teaser and Sin City 2. Tarantino and Rodriguez have been close friends going back to the ’90s, when the two were rising in the ranks of Hollywood’s next generation of filmmakers.
Filming for The Hateful Eight will begin next year and will star Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson. No release date has been set yet.
